Do you have a store that I can go purchase your items in?
At this time, our items are available for pickup in Jeffersontown, or for purchase when we are at the Buechel Train Depot Farmer’s Market (select Sundays May-October). We also have a selection of necklaces at Art @ 106 in New Castle, KY.
Do you deliver?
No, at this time we are not able to offer any kind of delivery.
How does porch pickup work?
When you place your order, I will give you our address and ask what time you plan to pick up.
Do’s:
-Let me know what time you’re picking up so I can have your order set out for you.
-Send electronic payment before or when you arrive (bread preorder payments are due when placing your order).
-Communicate pickup time and instructions to anyone you are sending in your place to pick up for you.
-Send me a message if you need to change your pickup time.
-Check your purchase to make sure it’s correct before leaving and message us if it’s not.
-Park your vehicle in our driveway if there is space, or in front of our house.
Please don’t:
-Arrive before your pickup time; your order will most likely not be set out yet and may not be ready for you.
-Arrive to pick up without telling me you’re coming or only giving me short notice that you’re on your way; I’m often scheduling pickups between running errands, appointments, my kids’ school time, etc. and may not be available to set your order out for you.
-Leave with your order and tell me you’ll pay when you get home.
-Forget to pick up your order and come by the next day without notice expecting it to still be sitting outside; we do not leave items outside overnight.
-Forget to pick up your order and ask me if I’ll deliver it to you instead, and then ghost me when I say I cannot do that.
-Park half of your car in our front yard.
What kind of flour do you use in your bread?
Generally I use King Arthur unbleached bread flour in my bread, as well as to maintain my sourdough starter.
Is your bread gluten free?
No. True gluten-free sourdough requires maintaining a dedicated gluten-free sourdough starter, which I do not currently have. Due to the long fermentation time, my traditional sourdough bread has much less gluten than regular bread and may be more easily digestible for those with gluten sensitivity, but those with Celiac disease should avoid it.
Do you ship?
We offer $5 USPS ground shipping on our necklaces and dried sourdough starter, and $12 shipping on our sourdough starter kits with dried starter. This is assuming you are purchasing an amount under the weight of our shipping calculations. For shipping costs of multiple items, message us to check.
How do I (insert a question about sourdough starter or baking sourdough)?
At it’s root, maintaining a sourdough starter and baking sourdough bread is incredibly simple. However, with endless techniques, recommendations, variations, and information available online, we know it can be incredibly overwhelming and at times, contradictory. We do our best to provide instructions with our sourdough starter that are easy to follow, and we expand on those here on our our website as well. Please be sure to read over the instructions we provide and follow the steps, and then check out the online instructions and resources for more information.
