We bake sourdough bread a few times a week and this is our go-to recipe. It’s simple to follow and produces a perfect loaf every time!

- Digital Kitchen Scale:
Measuring by weight ensures accuracy in your recipes, and is so much quicker and easier, too. This is the scale we use. - Bench Scraper:
A bench scraper is a must for handling sticky dough and keeping your workspace tidy. - Proofing Baskets:
Proofing baskets, known as bannetons, help shape your dough and can create those beautiful rings on your crust. Here’s a sourdough kit we got that includes proofing baskets, a bench scraper, a scoring tool, and more. - Dutch Oven:
A Dutch oven traps steam to create a crispy crust, and can be baked at high heat. We use a 7 quart cast iron dutch oven. I recommend getting one that is at least 6 qt. and can withstand up to 500° F. Many people use this one, there are tons of other options that are cheaper as well.
